Introduction:
We all have listened to the word the DESK. DESK which is found everywhere whether in schools, offices even at home desks such as a study table for a child, a kitchen platform for a homemaker, a dining table or a workspace. That one DESK has a lot of emotions, and memories whether good or bad but it becomes a significant part of one’s life. Individuals share lunch, projects, papers and even joys and sorrows.
This is only a four-letter word but it holds a thriving and deeper meaning. DESK plays a vital role in one’s life. Though it is a materialistic part of our life it is personified with utmost position. People try to decorate it, paste their photographs, the photographs of their loved ones, lights to vibe with and definitely the to-do - list.

In all this process there comes a word EVOLUTION which has been placed in our hearts and the evolution of desks has taken a boom after COVID PANDEMIC. The meaning of desks has a wider definition now. Be it Working from home from one’s BED which is considered to be the DESK of the workforce, Whether it is the FLOOR in summer, Whether a place in the park sitting on the soft grass or whether it is one’s lap, it is better and right to say that the desk has truly evolved.

Now in the 21st century, technology is on boom. Even small kids are tech-savvy. It is often said that innovation leads to progress, development and growth. The DESK is an apt example of this progress, development and growth. People are ready to make their desks as productive as possible in every way. Smart desks have evolved like nothing else. Smart desks have involved digitalisation as one of their main component.

GENz knows this term DIGITALISATION from childhood, and now it is part of their daily routine. Digitalisation taking place on DESK has enhanced their productivity skills in terms of saving time, work efficiency, effectiveness of completion of work assigned and even coping with stress. I would like to state an example that while writing this article I am on my DESK writing the same using resources such as Personal Computers, Coloured sticky notes for writing some points, digital tools such for break remainders such as coffee break, and even for doing some smart calculations.

So, relating this evolution with personal being has enhanced the productivity of the population of this world. In every field, there are some examples such as teaching ( Teachers can make lesson plans using various screens in one go in the evolution process of computers and using AI ), architecture ( mapping and plotting of minute points can be done using architectural tools ) and a lot more.
A common problem that people are facing is STRESS and in many ways, evolution has proved to cope with the stress as well.

So taking the example of Amazon Alexa which is already a smart device that will make the desks smart already
Not in terms of only digitalisation but decoration is the part of the enhancement of productivity and creativity of work. People keep smiling balls, even small robotic toys which prove to decrease the stress level of the people working on the work desk. This results in increasing their learning ability, skills, positive environment and happiness.

There is a famous saying, that a workplace thrives when its employees are happy and healthy and I believe that if the place of work is healthy and in no time it becomes a place of worship. Hence, this ultimately leads to an increase in the growth of the organisation, the growth of a skilled mindset, team collaboration and constructive communication.
